About the Author

Mary Čolak is the author of several newsletters and blogs on business, contentious issues, and life. Considerations in Making Money is her first book in the Beyond Success series. 

For over 30 years, Mary used her unique ability to turn chaos into order for organizations and individuals alike. She helps clients identify necessary improvements in organizational and personal work methods and systems. As a result of her involvement, clients experience marked improvements in efficiency, productivity, and a reduction in their stress. In addition to working with organizations to improve business processes, Mary also coaches individuals to help them manage and overcome obstacles in their job performance. In addition, Mary taught operations management for several years as a university instructor in the Bachelor of Business Administration program.

Mary is a lifelong learner. She has a Master of Arts degree in professional communication, a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology (major) and English (minor), and an Associate of Arts diploma in public administration. In addition, she has a master's certificate in Lean Six Sigma and was certified as a management consultant in 2004. Her awards and recognitions include the Outstanding Graduate award from the Institute of Public Administrators of Canada and an honour roll certificate from the Canadian Association of Management Consultants for placing first in British Columbia on the comprehensive national management consulting case study examination. 

Mary was born in Croatia and emigrated to Canada with her parents at a very young age. Today, she loves spending summers in her native Croatia but is happy to call Canada her home.
